Job summary

The Fountainhead Group in New York Mills, NY is seeking a Production Planner/Scheduler to develop and maintain production schedules that meet customer demand while optimizing capacity, labor, and materials.

Reporting to the VP of Production Control and Logistics, this onsite role collaborates with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, Engineering, and Quality to ensure on-time delivery and accurate planning data in the ERP/MRP system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems; Epicor/Kinetic preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer requirements, inventory levels, available capacity, and manufacturing priorities.
• Coordinate production schedules with manufacturing supervisors and department leaders.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address delays, material shortages, equipment downtime, staffing issues, or changing customer requirements.
• Work closely with purchasing and materials management to ensure required raw materials, components, and outside services are available when needed.
• Maintain accurate planning data, production orders, lead times, and scheduling information within the ERP/MRP system.
• Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service regarding production commitments and changes to customer requirements.
• Coordinate weekly production meetings and provide updates regarding current and upcoming production requirements.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and planning reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
