Responsibilities

• Inspects construction projects to enforce erosion control, stormwater management, Chesapeake Bay, and related minimum codes and regulations.
• Examines construction methods and materials to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations; prepares inspection reports.
• Reviews and examines plans, specifications, contract documents, and drawings for code compliance; communicates with contractors, property owners, architects, engineers, and the public.
• Performs inspections to ensure quality control, environmental protection, and life-safety rules; investigates complaints, issues notices of violation, and conducts follow-up inspections and court appearances as needed.
• Maintains records, communicates daily with the public and agencies, and attends plan review meetings.
