Job summary

WTW in Boston seeks an organized Retirement Plan Compliance Analyst to support attorneys in drafting and amending defined benefit and defined contribution plan documents, SPDs, and related notices. You will ensure ERISA compliance and effective document production.

You will train staff, provide guidance on plan language to internal clients, and stay current on laws and regulations affecting employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English or legal studies, or equivalent concentration preferred.
• 5+ years of drafting, amending, and tracking changes to pension plan documents and SPDs.
• Detailed understanding of ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code is a must have.
• Expertise with Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical, writing and verbal skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Draft/amend defined benefit and defined contribution plan documents, SPDs, and related notices for clients.
• Ensure plan documents comply with ERISA and federal laws; adhere to audit protocols.
• Organize and maintain plan documents; keep them up-to-date and accessible.
• Train and mentor staff on plan drafting and compliance.
• Provide guidance to internal clients on plan language and legal requirements.
• Research changes in laws/regulations using legal databases and respond to client needs.
• File documents with government agencies as needed.
• Communicate with clients and client counsel; manage expectations and updates.
• Coordinate and manage multiple clients/projects, timelines and budgets.
• Track project progress and mitigate risks; report status to stakeholders.
