Job summary

TCAT (Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit) seeks Small Vehicle Operators for eRide Ithaca to serve the Ithaca community with safe, friendly rides. You will operate electric sedans and vans, assist riders, and ensure accessible, respectful service at all times.

We offer paid CDL training, flexible schedules, competitive pay from $25 per hour, and a path to growth with union representation and benefits including health insurance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ with a high school diploma or GED.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and sit for long periods.
• CDL Class C with passenger endorsements preferred—but not required to apply.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate electric sedans & passenger vans in on-demand zones in Ithaca.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to riders of all ages and backgrounds.
• Assist passengers with accessibility needs and ensure a comfortable ride.
• Maintain trip schedules and manage fare collection and rider count technology.
