Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid New York State driver’s license.
• No CDL required; TCAT provides paid training.
• Background checks and DOT drug screening will be conducted.
• Comply with FMCSA regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a transit bus on fixed or demand-response routes throughout Tompkins County.
• Keep routes on schedule while delivering strong customer service.
• Assist riders with directions, accessibility needs, and fare information.
• Ensure passenger safety and comfort, including during emergencies.
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and required documentation.
