Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team in Hoboken, NJ. You will provide gold-standard nursing care across triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care, supporting doctors and teammates in high-pressure moments.

You’ll perform IVs, CRIs, transfusions, imaging, and sample collection while maintaining empathy for pet parents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited program preferred for VT degree.
• Credentialed VT (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the state where VEG operates is required.
• 1+ year experience in veterinary technician role; emergency experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Perform CPR and use advanced techniques like IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions.
• Collaborate with doctors and teammates to shape care plans and ensure flow.
• Operate diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement.
• Assist with anesthesia for fragile patients and use central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds as needed.
• Maintain calm, compassionate presence for pet parents during emergencies.
