Job summary

MedVet is hiring an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team in Cincinnati, OH. You will work with DVMs and patient care staff to deliver high-quality emergency care, monitor hospitalized patients, and perform in-house lab work while educating clients on medications and home care.

Ideal candidates are licensed Veterinary Technicians with strong math skills, excellent communication, and flexibility to cover varying shifts in a busy specialty/emergency setting at

Qualifications

• State-registered Veterinary Technician license is required.
• Strong mathematical calculation skills including drug dosages and IV rates.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to coordinate with clients and care teams.

Responsibilities

• Record and communicate patient information and rounds with the care team.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Collaborate with the patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care.
• Educate clients on home care, medications, and wellness updates for hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house labs and prepare specimens for outside testing.
