Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team in Worthington, OH. You will manage patient rounds, assist with anesthesia, and coordinate with the care team to optimize outcomes.

Ideal candidates have RVT licensure, prior emergency experience, and strong communication skills to educate clients and collaborate with DVMs. This on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within a nationwide specialty network.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license is required.
• Veterinary experience, especially in emergency settings, is preferred.
• Strong arithmetic skills for drug calculations and unit conversions.
• flexibility with hours and ability to work overtime when needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education on home care, medications and wellness updates for hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house and send-out laboratory testing.
