Job summary

MedVet in Worthington, OH, seeks an Emergency Veterinary Assistant and Doctor Coordinator to support on-call doctors during Sun/Mon/Tues 7p-7a. You will assist with diagnostics, client communication, and documentation while ensuring smooth departmental workflow in a high‑stress emergency setting.

• Prior veterinary experience required.
• Emergency experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supports specific doctor(s) for a given shift; may support different doctors within a department at different times.
• Ensures follow through of departmental workflow for the supported doctor(s).
• Collaborates on scheduling of consults, transfers, and diagnostics.
• Delegates team responsibilities as appropriate to team members.
• Acts as point of contact for referral partner transfers/inquiries if doctor is unavailable.
• Provides departmental client communication for cases (concerns, care plan discussions, Q&A).
• Drafts medical record documentation for supported doctor(s) and records initial patient history and vital stats.
