MU Health Care is seeking a Throughput Coordinator RN for the Emergency Services department at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. The role focuses on maintaining patient flow, coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges, and guiding nursing staff to ensure timely and safe care in a high-acuity setting.

The position requires Missouri Board of Nursing RN licensure with at least one year of RN experience, weekend nights, and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Missouri Board of Nursing RN license or multi-state RN required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Ability to coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical patient care within the scope of a Registered Nurse, including assessment of condition, goal setting, and nursing actions to meet the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient.
• Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient's self-report and symptoms of pain promptly. Utilizes an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment (0-10 numerical scale, FACES, or the FLACC.)
• Demonstrates an understanding of medications regarding their action and side effects. Reports pertinent information to the appropriate individual. Educates patients and support person(s) about medications.
• Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements policies and procedures of MU Health Care and assigned nursing unit.
• Coordinates admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients as needed.
