Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking an Emergency Room Throughput Flow Coordinator RN to help move patients through the ED with clear coordination, clinical support, and leadership. You will align staffing, patient placement, and resources to deliver organized, safe, patient-centered care.

This role partners with physicians and care teams, provides clinical guidance, escalation support, and helps reduce delays in care transitions, while supporting safety priorities and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support certifications required.
• Registered nurse license and degrees aligned with ED coordination responsibilities.
• In-depth knowledge of emergency department workflows and patient flow.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating patient placement, triage processes, EMS handoffs, and inpatient transfers
• Aligning staffing plans with patient volume, acuity, and department needs
• Monitoring delays in care transitions and collaborating on solutions
• Supporting safety priorities, experience initiatives, and quality outcomes
• Partnering with physicians, nurses, and care teams to remove barriers
• Providing clinical guidance, escalation support, and patient care when needed
