Job summary

Emerus is seeking an Emergency Room Technician for the Brentwood AHN Neighborhood Hospital in Pittsburgh for night shifts (7PM-7AM) on a PRN/Casual basis. You will provide technical assistance and supportive patient care, collect vital signs, specimens, and assist with lab testing, admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and current BLS certification, with ACLS/PALS preferred in many markets. Travel to multiple locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Current ACLS/ALS certification required in most markets.
• Current PALS certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with IV starts, phlebotomy, and EKG initiation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, report, and document clinical data including vitals, height/weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry, and specimens.
• Collect lab samples and perform testing per policies and CLIA regulations.
• Assist with patient activities and care per the plan of care.
• Provide superficial wound care and maintain patient safety.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow aseptic technique and infection control measures.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge.
