Qualifications

• High School Diploma or 2 years of related clinical area experience.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Institute Non-violent Crisis Prevention certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient’s vital signs as directed.
• Communicates with patient’s nurse practitioner to report out-of-range vital signs or concerns.
• Assists with specimen collection (midstream, urine/clean-catch, nasal swab, etc.).
• Provides surface trauma or orthopedic care support per physician order or delegation.
• Checks on patients in rooms and waiting areas and escorts them to treatment/testing areas.
• Answers unit telephone, call lights and alarms promptly to determine needs.
• Maintains room, unit and equipment cleanliness and refreshes supplies and linens.
• Assists in emergency situations as requested.
