Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans seeks an experienced ER nurse to join our caring emergency team. You will prioritize patient care, advocate for safety, and coordinate care across the care team during night shifts.

You bring a Louisiana nursing license, BLS, ACLS, CPI, PALS and TNCC where applicable, plus ER experience. We value compassion, quick thinking and teamwork in a diverse environment. Join us and help deliver exceptional patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications (new grads must obtain within 6 months).
• Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only).
• ENPC (can substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs).
• Emergency Room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for patients.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families, and care team members for significant events or changes.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Ensure infection control and environment of care requirements are followed.
• Ensure continuity of care and exceptional experience for every patient.
• Consult with supervisor when unable to complete tasks promptly or safely.
• Address patient questions and concerns and provide education.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others as needed.
