Job summary

Emerus, in partnership with Baylor Scott & White Health, seeks a PRN care technician to provide technical assistance and supportive patient care across assigned areas. Responsibilities include vital signs, lab testing, wound care, and maintaining sterile technique, with attention to patient safety and privacy.

This role requires high school diploma or GED and current BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred in many markets. Travel to multiple locations may be required and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS/ALS certification required in most markets; exceptions vary by market.
• PALS certifications strongly preferred.
• Experience with IV starts, phlebotomy, and EKG initiation is preferred.
• English fluency in speaking and writing is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, report, and document clinical data; take vital signs and collect specimens.
• Collect laboratory samples and perform testing per policies and CLIA/COLA rules.
• Assist with patient activities and care as per the plan of care.
• Provide superficial wound care and ensure patient safety.
• Maintain patient privacy and infection control measures.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and proper aseptic technique.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Travel to all facility locations as required.
• Attend staff meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
