Job summary

Emerus, a leader in small-format hospitals, seeks an ER tech to support patient care across assigned areas. The role focuses on collecting data, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a safe environment in a day shift schedule (7a–7p).

You will travel to facility locations as required, aiding the charge nurse and care teams. Requirements include high school diploma or GED, various medical training, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications as applicable by market, plus English fluency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and completion of one of the listed medical programs/certifications.
• Current BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross required.
• ACLS/ALS certification required in most markets; exceptions vary by market.
• PALS certifications strongly preferred in many markets.
• Experience with IV start, phlebotomy, and EKG initiation is preferred.
• Fluency in English, with strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Collect, report, and document clinical data including vital signs and specimens.
• Collect lab samples and perform tests per policies and CLIA regulations.
• Assist with patient activities and care per the nurse's plan of care.
• Provide superficial wound care and patient safety.
• Maintain patient privacy and infection control standards.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge; travel to locations as required.
• Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations and procedures; assist with treatments.
• Maintain care areas with supplies and support infection control measures.
