Job summary

Phoenix Children's in Gilbert seeks an Emergency Dept Tech to support nursing staff in direct patient care within the ED. You will assist with data collection, basic care tasks, and unit operations to help deliver timely, safe pediatric care.

The role involves working under supervision, preparing patient charts, participating in rounds, and maintaining supplies and environment to meet care standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collects and records routine patient data to ensure accuracy of patient chart.
• Performs basic patient care activities under supervision, including applying splints, casts, and CPR during cardiac arrest management.
• Assembles patient charts for new admissions and enters admission orders and demographic data.
• Identifies and reports unusual findings or observations to healthcare professionals for timely intervention.
• Maintains inventory levels of stock items, supplies, and equipment.
• Obtains blood specimens by physician order or per protocol and assists in delivering lab specimens.
• Participates in in-service programs, meetings, and daily care rounds to stay updated on care plan changes.
• Maintains the unit's environment and daily care operations.
• Provides orientation to the unit and hospital systems for patients and family members.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as requested.
