Job summary

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas is seeking an ER Tech to provide designated patient care under supervision, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and point‑of‑care testing, and assist with safe, high‑quality care in a fast‑paced emergency department.

Responsibilities include recording intake/output, supporting nursing staff, and maintaining infection control and equipment safety standards while communicating effectively with patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months - 1 year related experience.
• BLS Certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide designated patient care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Record graphics, intake and output, and ADLs in the computer and flow sheets.
• Maintain knowledge of baseline conditions for the patient population.
• Institute nursing interventions as needed and report observations to the licensed nurse.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families with sensitivity to psychosocial needs.
• Use equipment safely to provide patient care and maintain sterile fields where required.
• Assist in cleaning and sanitation of equipment and areas per guidelines.
