Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current BLS CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in healthcare setting or STNA/student in healthcare major.
• Positive service oriented communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and organizational skills.
• Proficient with technology and fast typist.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care.
• Knowledge of growth and development principles.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates care appropriate to the patient’s age to identify condition changes.
• Assist with patient care and room prep as directed to address needs and safety.
• Order and restock patient care supplies.
• Demonstrates service excellence aligned with organizational mission, vision and values.
• Complies with policies to ensure quality work and compliance.
• Train and maintain competency in phlebotomy, nasal and throat cultures.
• Train and maintain competency in BWC drug screens.
• Witness patient signature and notify ER UTL if signer unavailable.
• Enter ED charges into computer.
• Answer phones, transfer calls, take messages, communicate with staff.
• Maintain all departmental competencies.
