Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking an Emergency Room Tech to support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department, performing delegated tasks from the RN or Physician. You will conduct selected diagnostics, assist with patient transport, and provide clerical and cleaning support.

Success depends on executing delegated tasks, supporting unit operations, and contributing to a safe, efficient environment in a modern hospital setting within the Puget Sound region.

Qualifications

• High School GED General Studies and
• Completion of one of the following that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities: EMT program or
• Medical Assistant program or
• Certified Nursing Assistant Program or
• Licensed Practical Nurse program or
• completion of one year of nursing school
• Certified Nursing Assistant: WA
• Licensed Practical Nurse: WA
• Medical Assistant Certification: WA
• Registered Nursing Assistant: WA
• Basic Life Support - CPR
• Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist: WA, within 6 - months

Responsibilities

• Assists in implementing plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and tasks within scope of practice.
• Assists in making observations, gathering data and identifying patient care needs.
• Responds appropriately to emergency situations.
• Assists with patient transport and transfer.
• Assists with cleaning, stocking and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Adheres to safety and risk management standards.
