Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, TN is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. You will provide quality patient care using the nursing process, supervise staff on the assigned shift, and work with other disciplines to ensure continuum of care on a fast-paced unit.

The role requires current Tennessee RN licensure, BLS and ACLS certifications, and at least one year of ED experience. Strong communication, clinical leadership, and the ability to handle pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in nursing.
• Current RN licensure in Tennessee; BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• One year ED experience required.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial patient assessment utilizing the nursing process and age-specific needs.
• Documents initial assessment and delivery of patient care in the medical record.
• Coordinates bedside care and assists with skilled procedures.
• Administers or supervises medications, IV fluids, blood and blood products.
• Supervises nursing staff and assigns tasks by patient acuity; acts as charge nurse when needed.
• Prioritizes physician orders and communicates with patient/family; discharge planning.
