Job summary

You will participate in admissions, transfers, and discharges, assist patients during their stay, and help keep the work area clean and safe.

This role involves delivering medications, assisting in patient care, and coordinating with nursing and pharmacy while following established guidelines in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and Specialized Training is required.
• Must meet one of several criteria: Nurse Aide Certification, 1 year emergency medicine experience, Certified Medical Assistant, Louisiana EMT license, or nursing student status.
• BLS Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision and in a professional manner.
• Assist in admissions, transfers, and discharges, and support patients during their stay.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow hospital policies and infection control standards.
• Deliver medications from pharmacy or pneumatic tube system as directed by nurses.
• Assist in caring for deceased patients and support families as needed.
• Respond to patient calls and relay messages to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent and Specialized Training

Nurse Aide Certification

One year experience in emergency medicine environment

Certified Medical Assistant

Louisiana state EMT license

Junior or Senior in an accredited nursing program

BLS Certification
