Job summary

FMOL Health in Baton Rouge is seeking an Emergency Services Technician to support ER staff with approved treatments under supervision. You will participate in admission, transfer, and discharge, assist patients during their stay, and help maintain a clean, safe care environment under close supervision.

Responsibilities include patient care, hygiene assistance, vital signs collection, medication retrieval/delivery to nurses, and adherence to hospital policies and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and Specialized Training required.
• Must meet one of the following criteria: Nurse Aide Certification or EMT or CMA or Louisiana EMT license or nursing student.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Performs approved patient treatments under supervision with a caring, professional approach.
• Expediently answers calls and assists with hygiene and activities of daily living while maintaining a safe environment.
• Participates in admission, transfer, and discharge by greeting patients and completing paperwork as needed.
• Secures patient clothing and valuables and maintains clean linens and sterile supplies as required.
• Retrieves medications from pharmacy or pneumatic tube and delivers to nurse or secure location.
• Answers calls and relays messages to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Assists in care for deceased patients and supports families in times of sorrow.
• Keeps work area neat, clean, and safe at all times.
• Maintains inventory by requisitioning supplies and ensuring proper distribution.
• Follows all hospital policies, safety, QA, and infection control standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
