SYSTEM West Virginia University Health System is seeking a RN Sepsis Specialist to monitor ER patients using EPIC, identifying those at high risk for sepsis and guiding timely care.

You will work with the ER team to ensure appropriate tests, interventions, and follow-ups, conduct thorough follow-ups, educate staff, and participate in quality improvement initiatives while maintaining compliant documentation. Scheduling is 36 hours weekly with a night shift in Morgantown, WV.

Qualifikationen

• Current RN license to practice in the state or multi-state licensure (eNLC).
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Three years of nursing experience with two years as RN.

Aufgaben

• Review ER monitors in EPIC to identify high-risk sepsis patients.
• Promptly communicate findings to ER team and enable sepsis protocols.
• Collaborate with ER team to ensure tests, interventions and follow-ups.
• Perform comprehensive follow-up assessments for progress and adherence.
• Educate healthcare staff on sepsis identification, assessment and management.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives for sepsis care/outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation per hospital policies and guidelines.
• Place protocol orders as directed by the primary physician.
