SYSTEM West Virginia University Health System is seeking a RN Sepsis Specialist to monitor ER patients using EPIC, identifying those at high risk for sepsis and guiding timely care.

You will work with the ER team to ensure appropriate tests, interventions, and follow-ups, conduct thorough follow-ups, educate staff, and participate in quality improvement initiatives while maintaining compliant documentation. Scheduling is 36 hours weekly with a night shift in Morgantown, WV.

Qualifikationen

The RN Sepsis Specialist position entails utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record system to review ER monitors and identify patients at high risk for sepsis. The RN specialist will collaborate with the ER team to ensure that high-risk patients receive appropriate tests, interventions, and follow-ups. This role presents a significant opportunity for the RN specialist to proactively identify and manage sepsis cases, thereby making a substantial impact on patient outcomes. Responsibilities of the position include conducting comprehensive follow-up assessments, providing healthcare staff with sepsis identification, assessment, and management education, actively participating in sepsis care and outcome improvement initiatives, and maintaining accurate and detailed documentation in adherence to hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** :**

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Three (3) years of nursing experience with two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse.
