Job summary

La Palma Intercommunity Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care in Telemetry and the Emergency Department. The role emphasizes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for acutely ill patients.

You will collaborate with physicians, educate patients and families, and adhere to EMTALA and privacy requirements while supporting a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in Telemetry and ER. Provides direct patient care and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel, while maintaining standards of professional nursing care. Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s condition and responds quickly to changes.
