Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital in Tampa, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the Emergency Department. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, teach, and manage patient care using established nursing models.

Requirements include FL RN license (compact accepted), Nursing Diploma/ASN (BSN preferred), and active BLS; ACLS, PALS/ENPC, NIHSS/TNCC/CPI training within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Licensed Florida RN or valid compact license; active FL license within 60 days.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred.
• Minimum one year ER RN experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• PALS and/or ENPC certifications within 6 months.
• NIHSS, TNCC and CPI training required within 6 months (grace period).
• National Board Certification (CEN/CPEN) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management.
• Perform procedures, monitor, or other functions as ordered; document care promptly.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Teach patients and families about conditions, treatment, and follow-up.
• Educate on non-medical follow-ups, such as diet, exercise, and self-management.
