Job summary

University of California San Diego Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Services department on a per diem basis. The role supports the EC Emergency Dept with autonomous nursing actions, care coordination, and rapid assessment of patient needs.

The position requires an active California RN license, BLS/CPR and ACLS at hire, PALS, and at least two years of ER RN experience. Shift work includes nights and a 12-hour schedule with weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• California RN license required.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS at hire with ART within six months.
• PALS certification required.
• Minimum two years ER RN experience in past three years.
• Strong clinical skills for ER patients.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous nursing care per ANA standards within interdisciplinary care.
• Identify and implement nursing interventions and evaluate results for diverse patients.
• Direct and support other nursing staff; promote policy compliance and trust.
