Job summary

Southern Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department, primarily night shifts. You will provide direct, safe patient care in a fast-paced telemetry setting and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to maintain high standards of care.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS/ENPC within specified timeframes, with ER experience preferred. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS certification and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year ED staff nurse experience in acute care hospital; ER setting preferred.
• CEN certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice in Telemetry.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing staff.
• Be accountable for care delivered in the Emergency Department.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with physicians, including test results and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Maintain EMTALA compliance and report abuse to appropriate agencies and hospital social worker.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
