Job summary

HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital in Apopka, FL, seeks a Registered Nurse for night shift to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the Emergency Medicine setting. You will collaborate with physicians and care teams, perform procedures, monitor patients, document care, and educate patients and families.

The role requires an active Florida RN license, BLS, and additional certifications with timelines to obtain per department requirements.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required.
• Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
• 1+ years experience as RN in acute care environment
• BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• TNCC required within 6 months at Main ER
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Support, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department's requirements.
• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassess after interventions.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to resolve them proactively.
• Teach patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plan, medications and side effects; translate complex terminology for understanding.
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as diet and exercise, disease prevention and self-management.
