Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN for the night shift to deliver safe, high‑quality care to a diverse patient population across all ages and conditions. You will supervise and coordinate care with LPNs, aides, and techs, and collaborate with physicians and families in a high‑acuity environment.

This role requires an Iowa RN license (compact if applicable), BLS (and ACLS if telemetry is used), and a commitment to our mission and core values while providing culturally

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license.
• Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• ACLS required only if telemetry monitoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs rapid and comprehensive assessments.
• Develops and implements emergency care plans.
• Delivers timely and effective interventions.
• Evaluates patient responses and adjusts care.
• Facilitates communication and coordination with physicians, patients, families, and team members.
• Demonstrates clinical competence in emergency nursing.
• Manages multiple patients and prioritizes care.
• Provides age-appropriate and culturally sensitive care.
• Ensures safety and regulatory compliance.
• Maintains professional standards.
