Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a Registered Nurse for acute medical and surgical care. You will provide safe, effective, and culturally competent nursing care, guiding care from admission through discharge alongside a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires Iowa RN licensure, BLS (and ACLS if telemetry is used), and proficiency with computer systems. You will participate in discharge planning and patient education while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Iowa RN license is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS is required only if telemetry monitoring is available.
• Mandatory Reporter training must be completed within 3 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial patient assessment within 30 minutes of arrival.
• Develops outcome-based care plans and identifies patient problems.
• Implements and coordinates nursing care including medications and orders.
• Reassesses patient progress and updates plan of care as needed.
• Communicates with physicians, patients, families and team members to optimize outcomes.
