Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department on a 12-hour night shift (.9 FTE) with three shifts per week. You will provide safe, high-quality care to patients with urgent and emergent conditions, collaborate with physicians and ED team, and support triage, planning, and implementation in a fast-paced environment.

Requires an Associate degree in nursing, Iowa RN license, and BLS; BSN is preferred. ACLS is required if telemetry is used.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• BSN degree is preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license is required.
• Compact state licensure if practicing in Illinois.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification is required only if telemetry monitoring is used.

SCHEDULE

• .9 FTE
• 3 (12 hr) night shifts per week
• 1800-0630
• Every 3rd weekend
• Every 3rd holiday

POSITION PURPOSE

Provides and directs safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions. Utilizes evidence-based practice and critical thinking to assess, triage, plan, implement, and evaluate care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The Emergency Room (ED) RN manages a diverse patient population across all age groups and conditions, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and behavioral health emergencies. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, Emergency Room Techs, and other ED team members. Facilitates communication with physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree in nursing required .
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing( BSN) preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license, ( current Illinois (IL) license if working in IL) required .
• Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required .
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only if the unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities.
