Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department on a 12-hour shift schedule. This full-time role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, using the Watson Model and contributing to quality improvement.

Requirements include CA RN license, 1 year ED experience, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and basic EKG; EMR experience preferred. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or equivalent. BSN preferred.
• Minimum of one year of ED nursing experience. California Nursing license. Basic EKG competence.
• Emergency Department certification preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
• Basic computer skills and EMR experience.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Prioritize and coordinate patient care and ensure follow-through.
• Provide age-appropriate nursing care and document per unit policies.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with SBAR.
• Coordinate discharge planning with care managers.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
