Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles seeks a Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. This full-time night position offers 12-hour shifts with a $17 differential for evenings. The nurse will organize, plan, and deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of the ED Unit Supervisor.

The role requires CA RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and ED nursing experience. Watson Model of Care applies, with emphasis on age- and population-specific needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical ED nursing experience.
• California RN license required; BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications preferred.
• Spanish bilingual skills preferred; basic computer/EMR skills.
• Annual Workplace Violence Prevention training per hospital policy.

Job Description

The Clinical Staff Nurse is a skilled and experienced professional Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for excellence in the clinical practice of nursing and the management of patient care. Reporting to the Clinical Unit Supervisor of the Emergency Department, the Clinical Staff Nurse has 12 hour accountability for organizing, planning, directing, coordinating, and providing high quality, individualized patient/family centered care based on the Watson Model of Care for a defined group of patients, including the identification and demonstration of abilities to meet special needs and considerations of Age and Population Specific awareness.

Qualifications

• Education
• Associate in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or equivalent.
• Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing preferred.
• Qualifications/Experience
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in Emergency Department nursing. Internal candidates that have successfully completed the MLKCH Nurse Residency Program or Transition Fellows program or similar will be considered.
• Current California Nursing license.Basic EKG CompetenceCertification in Emergency Department Nursing preferred.
