Job summary

UNC Health's Rex Emergency Department in Raleigh, NC, seeks a part-time Clinical Nurse to provide competent, standards-aligned care in a high-acuity setting. The role reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and coordinates patient care using the nursing process in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities include patient education, care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continual learning to meet patient and family needs. Night shifts, 24 hours weekly, with pay range specified.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.

Responsibilities

• Education: Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.
• Evaluation of Care: Identifies expected patient outcomes; participates in discussion with interdisciplinary team.
• Implementation: Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems; organizes and prioritizes care.
• Leadership: Develops goals to promote professional growth; participates in cost-effective care and unit goals.
• Patient Assessment: Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care; develops relationships with families.
• Planning: Collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care; uses multidisciplinary resources.
• Research: Reads journals that may be applicable to practice.
