Job summary

AdventHealth in Winter Garden, FL is seeking an RN for the Emergency Department. This PRN role offers a pathway to growth through our Clinical Ladder program and opportunities to advance based on experience and performance.

You will conduct assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary care while ensuring safety and compliance. A strong emphasis on communication, documentation, and patient education is required.

Qualifications

• Emergency department experience required.
• Ability to use abstract reasoning to assess patients and adjust plans.
• Proficiency with Windows-based software and clinical systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of acute-care nursing practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Independent decision-making and discretion in care.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Orientation pathway competencies applicable to unit.
• Most staff require 12 months after orientation to proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate patients' health.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessments.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, nurses, social workers, and therapists.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
• Communicate with patients, families and the care team to keep everyone informed.
• Document patient information accurately in the medical record.
• Administer medications and treatments safely per protocols.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses and options.
• Supervise and direct nursing and support staff.
• Coordinate discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions home or to another facility.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Address and resolve issues related to patient care, staffing and resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
