Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's St. Joseph Health – Bryan/College Station region is seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced trauma center.

You will perform core assessments, coordinate with an interdisciplinary team, and implement individualized care plans to support patient recovery. This role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, an active TX RN license, and BLS; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC are expected within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Associate Of Nursing required upon hire.
• At least one year of RN experience required.
• Registered Nurse license for TX required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) required within 14 days.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 6 months.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support required within 6 months.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course required within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: admission and ongoing assessment; notify physicians of changes; reassess after interventions.
• Planning: design, direct, evaluate and document plan of care and patient education.
• Implementation: prepare patients for treatments; report significant changes; follow safety protocols.
• Report Skills: provide accurate handoff reports to oncoming shift; ensure continuity.
• Environment & Patient Safety: maintain safe environment; address hazards and safety concerns.
• Supplies: document charges and supplies used for care.
