Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate and implement patient care across the specified patient population on assigned units. The role emphasizes safe, efficient care aligned with unit standards and hospital mission.

The RN will assess patients, develop individualized care plans, educate patients and families, and collaborate with staff to ensure quality outcomes. Multiple shifts available; part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of patient population served.
• Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients’ rights in the delivery of care.
• Communicates in a clear concise manner appropriate to the developmental age of patient.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Obtains and records initial assessment and establishes priorities according to patient age, symptoms and psychosocial needs.
• Re-assesses patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention.
• Develops and implements a measurable individualized plan of care for the patient within nursing standards of care.
• Performs nursing decisions based on facts and evaluations of outcomes; updates the care plan accordingly.
• Participates in patient/family health education and discharge planning.
• Implements and documents timely interventions.
• Evaluates the plan of care.
• Performs Point of Care testing procedures.
• Coordinates unit tasks and delegates assignments to support staff.
