Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide coordinated clinical care tailored to the patient population on assigned units. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while ensuring safety and quality aligned with unit standards and CHRISTUS Health mission.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff, physicians, and families, maintaining professional conduct and respectful interactions across the team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of patient population served.
• Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients’ rights in the delivery of care.
• Communicates clearly in a manner appropriate to the patient population.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Obtains and records initial assessment and establishes priorities according to patient age, symptoms and psychosocial needs.
• Re-assesses patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention.
• Develops and implements a measurable individualized plan of care within Nursing Standards of Care.
• Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes; adjusts plan as needed.
• Participates in patient education and discharge planning.
• Implements timely interventions appropriate to patient needs and evaluates the plan of care.
• Performs various Point of Care testing procedures.
• Utilizes effective communication and delegates tasks as appropriate.
