Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on the Evening shift. The position is full-time at 36 hours per week (0.9 FTE) with an hourly pay range of $34.50–$55.20.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years and must maintain a current Illinois RN license. CPR/BLS is required, with ACLS/PALS/TNCC credentials preferred as applicable.

Qualifications

• BSN required or provided with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of first day in clinical nurse role.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Analytic abilities to assess patient care and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient status at admission and as care evolves.
• Organize health data to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Identify problems needing immediate attention and communicate with team.
• Document diagnoses and plan of care with patient and family input.
• Initiate discharge planning and coordinate with care team.
• Provide patient and family education based on evidence-based practice.
• Maintain updated Plan of Care and progression toward outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and participate in meetings.
