Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health’s Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. You will assess patients, administer evidence-based care, collaborate with physicians and support staff, educate patients and families, and document meticulously in EPIC to ensure continuity of care.

The role is full-time, day shift (6:30 AM–7:30 PM) with weekend/holiday rotations, requiring NJ RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, IV certification, and a BSN

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing
• IV certification within 90 days of hire
• BLS certification required
• ACLS either on hire or within 6 months
• BSN strongly preferred
• Experience with EMR (EPIC)
• 37.5-hour week with three 12.5-hour day shifts (day shift) and weekend/holiday rotations

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care with strong clinical judgment.
• Partner with physicians and advanced providers to support timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families so they feel informed and supported for next steps.
• Ensure accurate documentation within the EMR (EPIC) for continuity and safety.
• Contribute voice during interdisciplinary rounds for seamless communication.
• Work in a collaborative team where shared accountability impacts outcomes.
• Pursue continued professional growth through education and career resources.
