Job summary
RWJBarnabas Health’s Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This role emphasizes assessment, patient advocacy, and collaboration with the care team in a fast-paced ED setting.
The RN will work night shifts 7p-7:30a with weekend rotation, and must hold an active NJ RN license, BLS, and EPIC EMR experience. A BSN is preferred and CEN certification is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Two years of nursing and/or ER nursing experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred; CEN certification desirable; EMR systems (EPIC) experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
- Administer safe, evidence-based medications and provide hands-on care.
- Collaborate with physicians and providers for timely care decisions.
- Educate patients and families to ensure understanding and preparedness for next care steps.
- Accurate documentation within the EMR to support continuity and safety.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to improve communication and transitions of care.
