GHR Healthcare is seeking a Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for night shifts in Chewelah, WA. The role supports a critical access ED with 11 beds and an approximate daily census of 16 patients, requiring ED RN experience and charge nurse background.

The assignment runs 13 weeks (start Nov 30, 2026) with 36 hours per week across 3 night shifts (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.). Epic EMR experience is preferred, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC (NIHSS) certifications are required; NRP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in Washington; compact license in hand when applicable.
• 1+ year ED/ER RN experience.
• 1+ year charge nurse experience.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS/NIHSS/TNCC certifications current.
• NRP certification preferred.
• Experience with patient care across lifespan including pediatric & geriatric.
• Epic electronic documentation experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Deliver safe, timely emergency nursing care to medical, trauma, behavioral health, and pediatric patients.
• Perform rapid assessment, triage, monitoring, reassessment, and escalation of care.
• Manage emergency conditions such as respiratory infections, dysrhythmias, seizures, stroke symptoms, trauma, overdose, and psychiatric emergencies.
• Administer emergency medications, IV therapies, blood products, sedation, and vasopressors per orders.
• Establish and maintain IV access, obtain 12-lead ECGs, interpret dysrhythmias, and support respiratory interventions.
• Provide care for ventilated patients and assist with chest tube management and other procedures.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic accurately.
• Float between units as needed and support ED operations as a charge nurse.

Travel Emergency Room RN Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Washington; compact license must be in hand when applicable
• At least 1 year of Emergency Department or Emergency Room RN experience
• At least 1 year of charge nurse experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• NRP certification preferred
• Experience caring for patients across the lifespan, including pediatric and geriatric populations
• Experience with electronic nursing documentation; Epic experience preferred
• Ability to work rotating weekends and provide holiday coverage as scheduled

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, timely, and compassionate emergency nursing care to patients with medical, trauma, behavioral health, and pediatric needs
• Perform rapid patient assessment, triage, ongoing monitoring, reassessment, and escalation of care
• Manage emergency conditions including respiratory infections, dysrhythmias, seizures, stroke symptoms, trauma, overdose, psychiatric emergencies, and multisystem illness
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, IV therapies, sedation, and vasopressors according to orders and department protocols
• Initiate and maintain IV access, obtain 12-lead ECGs, interpret dysrhythmias, and support respiratory interventions including BiPAP and CPAP
• Provide care for ventilated patients and assist with chest tube management, splinting, and other emergency procedures within scope of practice
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, and behavioral emergencies
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, phlebotomy, and interpretation services
• Document assessments, interventions, reassessments, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Support emergency department operations as a charge nurse and float between units when assigned
