Overview
Emergency Department - Registered Nurse – Travel assignment at Trusted Health, Yakima, WA. This role offers a night shift schedule with a ~18-week contract and a weekly pay of $2,326.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care for aHigh-acuity, large-volume ED population including trauma, chest tubes, arterial lines, ventilators, and pediatric patients.
- Set up and manage patient care tasks such as chest tubes, arterial lines, medication drips, and use of ultrasound/bipap as appropriate.
- Triage patients and assist with trauma and code situations; support a fast-paced ED environment with zones and a 34-bed unit.
- Collaborate with preceptors, resource buddies, and a designated nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity.
- Complete orientation (Hospital NEO) and participate in a preceptor-supported shift pattern initially.
- Adhere to unit standards including shifts, on-call status, holiday scheduling, and six-week scheduling cycles.
Requirements
- Washington license or Compact license (required for submission).
- COVID vaccination required after submission (religious and medical declinations accepted).
- Minimum qualifications: at least 3 years of ED experience in a large-volume, high-acuity ED; strong emergency nursing skills (critical care and pediatrics).
- Experience with chest tubes, arterial lines, blood administration, Bipap/ventilators; splinting; barcode medication administration; management of medication drips; triage experience (must pass hospital triage test).
- Ability to set up chest tubes and arterial lines; assist with trauma and code cases; ESI understanding; strong triage capabilities.
- Pediatric emergency medicine experience preferred.
- Transfer capabilities for neurosurgery/multi-system trauma high-acuity pediatrics as needed.
- Unit details: 34 beds with 12 hallway beds; ER zones with fast track; nurse-to-patient ratios vary by acuity (1/3-5).
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC; Skills Checklist; References; WA license; multistate license may require suicide prevention training.
