Job summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist for our free-standing Emergency Department in St. Augustine, FL. This full-time, night-shift role supports high-stress, fast-paced patient care and requires Florida licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.

Ideal candidates will have AS degree in Respiratory Therapy with ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred, and will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver individualized care and education to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Licensed respiratory therapist in Florida (DOH).
• AS degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
• ACLS, PALS or NRP certifications preferred.
• Experience in high-stress, fast-paced environments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with breathing disorders.
• Administer respiratory therapies and pharmacological agents as prescribed.
• Monitor and manage mechanical ventilators for patients requiring support.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on treatment plans.
• Provide patient education on breathing techniques, medication usage, and lifestyle changes.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient assessments, treatments, and progress notes.
