The ideal candidate holds a Florida Licensed Respiratory Therapist credential and a certificate; AS preferred, ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Florida Licensed Respiratory Therapist required (DOH).
• Certificate required to practice respiratory care.
• Associate of Science degree preferred.
• ACLS preferred, PALS preferred, NRP certification preferred.
• Active licensure in Florida for Respiratory Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients with breathing disorders.
• Administer respiratory therapies as prescribed.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic tests related to respiration.
• Monitor and manage mechanical ventilators for patients needing respiratory support.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other health professionals on treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on breathing techniques and medication use.
• Maintain accurate patient assessments, treatments and progress notes.
