Job summary

Parkwest Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, seeks an Emergency Department Patient Registration Specialist (PRN/OCC, variable hours). You will register patients quickly, collect demographics and payment information, verify insurance benefits, and enter data for the Advanced Care at Home program.

Responsibilities include completing full registration per EMTALA, handling co-pays, using the electronic signature system, and supporting 24/7 ED operations while maintaining accuracy and patient

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months customer-facing experience.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of registration and insurance verification processes.

Responsibilities

• Performs the Quick Registration process for Emergency Department encounters.
• Collects co-payments and deposits and issues receipts.
• Verifies insurance benefits and enters required financial information.
• Uses the electronic signature system to complete forms and explains information to patients.
• Maintains EMTALA-compliant registration and follows de-escalation procedures.
• Supports 24/7 ED operations and provides excellent patient service.
