Job summary

Medical City North Hills is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Room on a PRN / Per Diem basis. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers and the care team, following established nursing models and the department's standards.

The role involves assessing patients, performing procedures, and educating patients and families while ensuring timely documentation in the medical record and proactive patient advocacy.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 30 days of employment start date
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year of employment start date
• RN license within 30 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or PALS within 90 days of employment start date
• No experience required

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the care in the patient medical record.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs.
• Teaches patients and families about medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Educates about non-medicinal follow-up measures and prepares for self-management.
