Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Chicago seeks an Experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a full-time night shift. You will provide evidence-based nursing care for an assigned ED patient population, coordinate care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

The role requires US RN licensure, BSN or higher, BLS/CPR certification, and strong communication and critical thinking skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association.
• Analytic ability; conceptually and quantitatively.
• Oral, listening and written communication skills.
• Strong human relation skills to interact with others in difficult situations.
• Use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinically competent, evidence-based care for an assigned group of patients.
• Coordinate care planning across the patient care team.
• Participate in hand-offs and effective communication at the bedside.
• Advocate for the patient and family within the care plan.
• Demonstrate leadership by mentoring and collaborating with team members.
• Deliver care aligned with ANA standards and organizational values.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and quality improvement.
